That's not impossible, you know! Here's how to have a blast, yet not pile on the pounds
BE AWARE
* A holiday is a break from routine, not from exercise. You can't carry your gym around, but don't give up on easy-to-do exercises. Get your fitness instructor to teach you some.
ON A HIGH
* Exercise can give you a high. It's time you realised that. And, the thrill that you've stuck to your workout regimen is an added benefit.
PLAN AHEAD
* Factor in a bit of walking, some water sports and trekking into your holiday schedule, so that you don't have to make an extra effort later.
EAT RIGHT
Salad time
* It's fine to indulge, but do so prudently. Once in a while, avoid the greasy stuff, and opt for a lovely-looking salad with a healthy dressing.
Moderation, the key
* Stick to just one calorie-rich delicacy a day. That way, you won't overeat. Is the buffet counter a huge temptation? Sit as far away from the fried stuff and as close as you can to the salad bar. You'll still be able to fit into your favourite jeans at the end of the holiday!
DON'T SKIP MEALS
* Do that, and you'll over-eat later! Pack along some granola bars, some nuts… anything to keep you from developing a craving.
GET ACTIVE
* Yoga's great even on a holiday. Just roll up your mat and carry it along.
Avoid the elevator and take the stairs.
* Window-shopping anyone? Be a mall rat, and see the calories burn away even as you have the time of your life.
