Australia has expressed new concerns over the security for the Commonwealth Games after five crude bombs were found in Bangalore over the weekend near the city’s Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Two of those exploded on Saturday, minutes ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) scheduled for that afternoon; another was discovered later and was apparently meant to explode when the match ended.
Sources tell that the Indian Mujahideen is suspected to be linked to the Bangalore bombs, and that the intent was to deter foreign participation in the Commonwealth Games.
